Me? Competitive? Nah!

This week, I've been thoroughly enjoying my last week of holidays (this involves sleep-ins, long gym workouts, lunches with friends, and knitting like a fiend) and attempting to organise my teaching timetable (this involves phoning many, many people in an attempt to create something workable, only to discover that every single person wants their lesson in the exact same time slot. Argh).
Since last we spoke, I have finished the Boatneck Bluebell jumper.

Photograph taken by my mother, in her beautiful garden. My backyard won't even grow weeds.

It came out a little bigger than I'd hoped, but I'm otherwise very happy with it. (By the way, that thing poking though the jumper at stomach level is the edge of my belt buckle, and not the mother of all 'outie' belly buttons).
Shortly after finishing this, one of my knitting group compadres tipped me off that entries to the local show were due in the next few weeks. I had idly thought about entering, but decided that it wasn't really worth my time. Now, with a finished jumper fresh off the needles, who could stop me?
I already have things made for the 'adult knitted jumper' (see above) and ' pair of men's or women's socks'. The only other thing I wanted to make was a knitted toy (for which I have picked a pattern, and will start knitting soon)- that was, until I saw the section 'Sewing aid, eg. pincushion'.
I just couldn't resist.

I'm hoping that the judges will appreciate the irony.

The jumper looks great: I had the same outy thing in a picture- it was the jeans' button!!! I hope the judges appreciate the irony of your pincushion too-I do!!
Isn't it always the way that everyone wants their lessons at the same time?? Hope you can get them all sorted out.

The blue jumper looks beautiful on you; the color is absolutely perfect! Your voodoo doll pincushion is hilarious. He just needs his pins now.

I suspect they suffer from irony deficiency. :) But good luck with it anyway - I love it. Love the jumper.
