Hit Parade

I have a bold statement to make. It is a statement that may turn some of my brethren and sistren in wool against me, and yet the statement must be made. It is as follows-

I have finished the Christmas Knitting.

Okay, okay, that's not entirely true. I have a couple of small projects to make that may or may not get finished- and if they don't get finished, then that's okay. All the important, cornerstone-of-the-gift-giving-process stuff is done. Concluded. Finito.

Firstly, we have a cavalcade of dishcloths.

I made the 'log cabin' style one to use up all the oddballs of cotton that were left at the end of the dishcloth spree, and now I'm liking it so much that I may actually keep it.

Next, my dad's felted wine bag.

The Kureyon goodness insulates the bottle, keeping the wine chilled for longer. (I may have conducted a hands-on experiment. You know, just to make sure it worked).

Mum's Saturday Market Bag-

-was a quick and easy knit, and can expand to hold a remarkable amount of stuff.

Finally, my sister's Percy bag-

-was a project that dragged on and on for months (because I'd get heartily sick of seed stitch, put the project down, and come back to it three weeks later), and the splitty yarn nearly drove me nuts. I'm happy with how it turned out, though. (And yes, that is my foot in the above photo).

My favourite part?

The lining. So cute!

Finally, in the 'not actually a Christmas present' category, we have the tea cozy I made for the Australian Knitters Tea Cozy Swap.

It was recently received by kgirlknits -go to her blog and check out how well the tea cozy matches her awesome tablecloth. I hope she will enjoy many a piping hot cup of tea from her cozily-wrapped teapot.

So... how's your Christmas knitting going?

Congrats on finishing everything! My Christmas kniting is almost done so I don't feel too jealous of you! :) I made three pairs of socks and a scarf. The only thing left to finish is another scarf and I'm more than halfway done. I don't expect too much holiday-related stress this year.

Christmas knitting? What Christmas knitting? Actually, I've got Christmas weaving this year. I'm 2/3 through and hopefully will be finished today.

The tea cosy is too cute, and those dishcloths look spectacular laid out end to end. So colourful! And I like the log cabin idea. I have some odd balls of cottontop that I've been wondering what to do with. Hmm

Congrats on finishing the Christmas knitting - it's always a stress towards the end, eh?
