The socks are saved!

Daphne from The Knittery is a Goddess, walking the earth in the guise of a purveyor of fine yarns.

You may recall that I emailed her after discovering my sock-related plight. She promptly emailed me back, saying that my particular blend of wool/cashmere sock had been discontinued(!), but that she'd managed to find a partial skein left over in the colourway I needed (which she then sold to me at a vastly discounted price). I am very, very grateful.

Hallelujah!

In the meantime, I've been channeling my knitting mojo into Christmas dishcloths.
I am now well and truly sick of this pattern, as simple and effective as it is. (Kgirl asked if I do anything to make the edges of the dishcloths look nicer, to which I must answer: no. I'm not that much of a perfectionist, and come on! They're dishcloths!) I'm thinking it's time for some miters. Thick, chunky, garter stitch miters.

I have four more Christmas dishcloths to make, and then I won't be knitting another dishcloth for a long, long time.

Daphne is a gem isn't she!

I quite like the edge look on the dishcloths - like you cut them off a whole strip of dishcloth. I do admire you for making so many, I'm not sure I could do it!

I love the little unexpected pleasure of finding someone so spectacularly nice that they go out of their way to help you. Or they're just super sweet. Glad the sock is saved!!

Hallelujah is right for the saving sock yarn. The Tori socks will be wonderful when complete. The washcloths are looking fine, dandy and very springy.
